Iowa's Deafblind Summer Symposium, June 5-7, 2019The event has several segments and speakers.6/5 - Pre-Symposium Workshop (Required for licensure renewal credit) - Basics of Deafblindness 6/6 - Morning session 1 - Cortical Visual Impairment: an Introduction to characteristics, phases, and assessment. Session 2 - Cortical Visual Impairment - Focus on Alternative & augmentative communication. Afternoon session: Cortical Visual Impairment - Focus on Educational program development, curriculum adaptations, and functional routines. 6/7 - Morning session: Understanding central auditory processing disorders. Afternoon session: Including the IFHE in the IEP. Closing remarks at 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. |
