The Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) is a specific curriculum focused on nine areas of instruction critical to the success of students who are blind and visually impaired. The ECC provides a framework to target skills that are not always integrated within the general education curriculum. This course provides foundational information about the ECC, assessment that drives the ECC and strategies for facilitating activities to be used in the home, school, and community environments. Strategies for teaming and collaboration will be discussed as well. Time will be spent learning together as well as constructing specific activities for your students, classroom, and/ or learning environment. The Teachers Learning and Collaborating model (TLC) will be used for coaching and support. Two face to face sessions will take place, as well as classes utilizing distance technology and videotaping. |
