  1. Q. How long does the initial ACVREP RPPLE© application process take?

Answer: While the application is comprehensive in scope, it does not require more than what should already be developed as part of a strong CE provider program. You should expect to hear from ACVREP within 60 days of submitting your online application.

ACVREP may ask for additional materials and/or information to complete the review of the application which may extend the time period for approval.

  2. Q. Is there anything we can do to speed up the review of our application?

Answer: Yes. Make sure the application is complete and includes all supporting materials. Also it helps to have one contact person responsible for answering any inquires or requests for additional information from ACVREP.

  3. Q. Can we offer ACVREP contact hours once we have submitted our application?

Answer: No. ACVREP contact hours may only be awarded for CE activities that are offered after the provider has received confirmation that the provider is an approved ACVREP Category 1 or Category 2 RPPLE© provider.

Further, ACVREP Category 2 RPPLE© providers may not award ACVREP contact hours for CE activities unless their events have been properly Registered on the ACVREP website.

  4. Q. What are the guidelines for individuals who will be involved in CE activity design, development and implementation?

Answer: As a general rule, decisions regarding CE activity design, development, and implementation should be made by individuals who are competent in the subject matter, fully understand the purpose of the activity and related learning objectives, have practical knowledge and experience in utilizing varied instructional methodologies, and have knowledge and experience in instructional delivery within the selected medium (e.g. workshop, on-line course, independent study, etc.)

  5. Q. What party is responsibility is the development and achievement of learning objectives for any given CE activity?

Answer: It is the shared responsibility of the provider organization, the CE activity planner(s), and instructor(s)/presenter(s) to facilitate the development and achievement of stated learning objectives by participants/learners.

  6. Q. How should commercial interest information be disclosed?

Answer:This information may be related in promotional materials, activity hand outs, and/or in an announcement made prior to the start of the CE activity. Please note that a disclosure statement is only required for those activities where there is a commercial interest of the presenter or the provider organization.

  7. Q. What is ACVREP's position on commercial interest?

Answer: ACVREP does not view the existence of commercial interests and/or affiliations as implying bias on behalf of the provider or undermining the value of CE activities planned and implemented by the provider organization. Having an interest in or affiliation with any organization does not prohibit the presenter/instructor from participation, but said relationships should be clearly stated in advance of the CE activity.

  8. Q. What types of documentation can be submitted in support of the ACVREP RPPLE© application in relation to the provider organization's approach to the use of externally-developed materials?
