PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE COMS CLINICAL COMPETENCY EVALUATION FORM ("CCE") INCLUDING A MINIMUM NUMBER OF DIRECT INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS
The ACVREP COMS Subject Matter Expert Committee recommended these changes to the ACVREP Board of Directors who approved posting these changes for a 30 day Public Comment period.
This new CCE form is designed to travel with the intern if there are multiple placements during the internship so that only one form will be used.
This single CCE form will allow the internship supervisors and the university internship coordinator to track a single record of performance during the internship. Only one CCE form will be submitted to ACVREP signed by all parites. This will facilitate processing for the applicant.
The COMS SME committee did a survey of all university programs and concluded that it is important to set a minimum standard for direct instructional hours during the internship and to clearly define what can be included as instructional hours. This information is now clearly stated in the preamble to the CCE form.
