Certification Process Timeline

It is important as an Applicant that you note and keep in mind that the Certification process has a timeline that must be met for each stage in the process. This timeline applies to all certifications and was effective April 1, 2016.

Please note the following:

  • You must provide all required information in order to be declared Eligible within 6 months of the date of your Eligibility Application. If this timeline is not met, your application will be cancelled and you will need to reapply.
  • Once you are declared Eligible, you must register for the exam within 6 months and must schedule and take the exam within 3 months of your Exam Registration Date. If this timeline is not met your application will be cancelled and you will need to reapply for Eligibility.
  • You will have the earlier of 24 months from your Initial Exam Registration Date or 4 takes of the exam, if you do not pass on the first try. If this timeline is not met your application will be cancelled and, after a wait of 6 months, you will need to reapply for Eligibility.
  • From the date you pass the exam you have 6 months to Apply for Certification. If your Application for Certification is not complete so that you are certified within 6 months of your Application for Certification Date your application will be cancelled and you will need to reapply for Eligibility.
