Job Description:

This position services Roanoke, Staunton Regional Offices and surrounding areas.

The Division for Services will provide a quality program of individualized rehabilitation services, educational consultation, technical assistance, and instruction that will empower eligible consumers to achieve their desired levels of independence consistent with their abilities and informed choices.

Responsible for coordinating a statewide business development and marketing program in an assigned area for employers, career seekers, referral sources, and the community. Enhances understanding and promotes awareness of the Department and assists adults and students who are blind, deaf/blind and visually impaired reach their career objectives. The position provides a direct linkage between services and employment opportunities with the business community, agency staff and career seekers in the Roanoke, Staunton Regional Offices and surrounding areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in Business Management, marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience. Considerable executive level experience in developing prospects and implementing marketing strategies. Knowledge of various software programs such as spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, and database management as applicable to marketing program. Use of the Internet for the purpose of employment outcomes. Demonstrated ability to write for professional and public audiences and conduct training.

Ability to establish effective working relationships among diverse professionals, constituents, and advocates. Working knowledge of marketing concepts and promotional techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

Some knowledge of human service delivery systems and the vocational rehabilitation process.
