ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CVRT works with other Vision Rehabilitation professionals to maximize an individual’s functioning and their adjustment to living with vision loss. S/he evaluates an individual’s functional skills in the areas of personal management, communication, home management, financial management, leisure time activities and the use of adaptive equipment. The CVRT will provide person-centered evaluations to develop and implement an individual rehabilitation plan, with input from other rehabilitation personnel and the individuals served. The CVRT must maintain thorough and complete documentation to comply with contract requirements and agency procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in Vision Rehabilitation is strongly preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of two years related experience. If the applicant is not already certified, s/he must be able to obtain professional certification within six months of hire. Must have valid NYS driver’s license.
