Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orientation & Mobility from an accredited college or university

·       Certification from ACVREP (COMS)

·       Experience preferred, but not required

Ability to:

·       Work effectively with clients on a one-on-one basis or in small groups

·       Assess Clients’ functioning levels and develop an individualized training plan for each client

·       Teach orientation and mobility concepts to clients

·       Teach the use of various mobility devices/apps, etc.

Job Description:

·       Develop appropriate educational evaluation, goals, objectives and activities for blind and visually impaired students

·       Teach students to travel safely, effectively and independently in their home setting, community, place of employment or school

·       Provide accurate reporting of student progress on a daily basis

·       Itinerant model is primarily used, however this position may involve teaching teenagers in a group setting

This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. Work hours are flexible. The agency has been in existence for over 30 years and is located in beautiful sunny Central Florida near beaches and the Florida attractions.
