Are you a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist who is available to travel to Myrtle Beach, SC for a 12 week contract position?  Sunbelt Staffing currently has a full time opportunity for a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) to work in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area.  This is a contract position for approximately 37 hours per week for a short term contract approximately12 weeks, with possible extension .  Part time applicants will also be considered.  The qualified OMS will provide services to several students with various degrees of visual impairment and cognitive disability. Candidates must be motivated and committed to playing a vital role in improving educational outcomes for children. Requirements:

• Best practice supports a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy of Vision Rehabilitation Professionals (ACVREP). Some of the requirements for certification include: O&M specific master’s level course work through an approved university program, 350 hour internship under a COMS, and a qualifying exam. Certification is renewed every five years with fulfillment of at least 25 continuing educational credits. For Details see:  http://www.acvrep.org/certification-process.php
• Experience working in school programs or with pediatric populations is preferred
• Provide instruction and training in skills related to low vision and/or blind
