Travel to homes and schools to evaluate and provide direct educational services to each assigned child and their family. At least 56 hours/month of total direct instruction to be provided unless otherwise noted. Assessments include educational, developmental, and conceptual awareness skills, functional vision/learning media (FVLMA) and ECC. Establishing educational plans and objectives to meet the needs of the children and families. Teaching/training areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum including: independent living skills, orientation and mobility, communication skills, self-help skills, social development, sensory development, emergent literacy, pre-braille skills, and braille literacy, and cognitive development including the application of assistive devices.  Knowledge of instructional techniques including calendar boxes, communication devices and techniques, sensory learning, and other instructional methods for children with multiple impairments including visual impairments.  Maintain records and prepare reports as needed or required.  Team player and liason between schools/agencies and other community resources; organize events and trainings for parents/families.  Occasional participation in special agency social functions may be required during evening or weekend hours.  Other duties as assigned.

Cert: Multiple Certifications

TVI degree at the Bachelor's or Master's lever required.  Additional desired certifications include COMS and CVRT.  Winter Haven Florida in Central Florida has a friendly, small-town atmosphere but is within easy driving distance to adjacent large metropolitan areas including the many major theme parks in Central Florida.
