Flexibility That Fits Your Life

• Full-time paid internship
• Negotiable Monday–Friday schedule with a 30- or 60-minute lunch break
• Alternate work schedule (AWS) may be available
• After training, part-time telework may be possible if you have secure high-speed internet and work from an approved location within Pennsylvania
• If not teleworking or in the field, you will report to the Erie headquarters office
• Telework availability may change; details will be shared during the interview

What You’ll Do as an Orientation and Mobility Intern

• Review reports and observe each customer to understand current abilities and needs
• Develop individualized service plans outlining goals and instructional schedules
• Teach techniques that support safe, confident travel in home and community settings
• Coordinate services with rehabilitation, social service, and independent living staff
• Track customer progress and adjust instruction strategies as needed

Do You Qualify?

You’re qualified if:

• You are currently enrolled in the final year of an accredited bachelor’s, master’s, or certificate program in Orientation and Mobility; OR
• You are within three months of entering the final year of a qualifying program

Special Requirement

• Your college or university must authorize your participation in the Commonwealth’s Orientation and Mobility Intern Program.
• At the start of the internship, you must be enrolled in the final semester of your degree or certificate program.

Other Information

• The Pennsylvania residency requirement is currently waived for this position.
