Tennessee School for the Blind

The Tennessee School for the Blind Outreach Department is seeking a dual-certified teacher of students with visual impairments (TVI) and orientation and mobility specialist (O&M) to work in West Tennessee primarily encompassing the Memphis to Jackson region. TSB Outreach teachers provide in-person direct and consultative services through the itinerant service delivery model with students in multiple school districts in their region; significant travel and communication is involved with these activities. This student-focused, collaboration-oriented professional will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the educational experience of their students and help prepare them for optimal postsecondary outcomes. Led by the Director of Outreach Services, Outreach teachers work as a team to ensure a shared vision of excellent services and support from the Outreach program. Outreach teachers are provided with a state vehicle, cell phone, and laptop to use for work-related activities, as well as a dedicated set of assistive technology devices.
