Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) Symposium. 2-day event in collaboration with Perkins School for the Blind. CVI is a fast growing visual impairment. Overview of current research, treatments and adaptations for MCB consumers with CVI diagnosis. Both adult acquired brain injury/CVI as well has CVI in children will be explored. Evaluation strategies, age-related changes and transition issues will be presented. Best practices for environmental adaptations, rehabilitation teaching, orientation and mobility training and adaptive technology and other educational devices. The goal of the Symposium is to provide MCB with a comprehensive introduction to this eye disease. Presenters include Medical Doctors, Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Low Vision Therapists and educators.
