Description of CE Program/Activity
Two of the most common causes of visual impairments of students in Texas are Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH) and Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI).There is a high incidence of structural, functional and visual perceptual disorders and delays in children diagnosed with these etiologies. Many of these disorders and delays can be improved with appropriate intervention. This workshop will help participants:1.Understand the differences between structural disorders of the visual system, functional disorders and visual perceptual disorders, and2.Learn applicable intervention strategiesDr. Linda LawrenceDr. Lawrence is a frequent lecturer and trainer for parent groups, teachers, therapists, nurses, optometrists and ophthalmologists as well as other professionals in Kansas, the USA, South and Central America, Europe, India, the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia.
