Description of CE Program/Activity
Increase your knowledge of how Global Positioning Systems (GPS) can assist students with visual impairments in orientation and mobility. Learn to evaluate skills and plan lessons that nurture the development of travel confidence and experiential knowledge from early childhood to adulthood. The integration of real-time incidental information and electronic "orientation" with GPS will be discussed. Participants will receive hands-on experience with the Trekker Breeze, including traveling outdoors, backtracking, creating landmarks, setting routes and using pre-set Points of Interest (POIs).
