Learn how listening can be an important skill for a student with visual impairments, supporting emerging literacy, essential to successful use of assistive technology and in accessing the curriculum. This skill, often treated as something that is innate in the student with visual impairments, is a skill that may take deliberate instruction and practice. Participants will gain knowledge of the importance of listening across the age and ability range of their students as well as developing ideas about how to incorporate listening into their instruction. |
