 DATE: Wednesday, September 16, 2026TIME: 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (MST)Session Title: Getting Familiar with State Services: Vocational Rehabilitation & Transportation Opportunities Presenter: Melanie Zehnder (Manager of Transition Services at FBC) and Madeline Hillebrand (Youth Transition Specialist at FBC) Session Description: Melanie and Madeline will share an overview of services provided by the state of Arizona, specifically enrollment in the Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) unit of Vocational Rehabilitation, what services and programs Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) provides and how to navigate, and how Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) can assist with the process. They will also share details related to other services available such as (Americans with Disabilities Act) ADA Platinum Passes, paratransit opportunities, and (Transportation Security Administration) TSA Cares. Learning Objectives: 1.Attendees will learn about the Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) unit within Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), including available services and the process for enrolling students.2.Attendees will also learn about programs that support accessible transportation and travel, including ADA Platinum Passes, paratransit services, and TSA Cares.AGENDA1.
