This staff professional development day provides agency-wide updates, opportunities to increase knowledge of programs and services across the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) and facilitated interaction with representatives from key operational and program areas. Participants will hear updates from agency leadership, learn about the roles and resources of different departments to provide information and resources that are helpful to use with consumers, and strengthen cross-program knowledge and collaboration through an interactive format. Learning Objectives By the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to: 1. Understand key agency priorities, initiatives, and updates communicated by MCB leadership and the Executive Team. 2. Recognize the roles, functions, and resources of MCB program and operational areas represented during the interactive format. 3. Identify internal resources and points of contact that can support consumer service delivery, staff development, and cross-departmental collaboration. 4. Explain how collaboration across programs, regions, and administrative functions supports coordinated services for individuals who are blind and visually impaired. 5. Apply information gained from the programs to improve communication, referrals, resource sharing, and collaboration across MCB programs. |
