Description of CE Program/Activity
This course provides an overview of assistive technology (AT) use in the workplace for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Grounded in a national research study, it translates findings into practical insights for service providers and professionals in this field. Participants will learn what AT is commonly used on the job, key challenges workers face, how AT is obtained and adopted, how people learn to use it and where training gaps remain, emerging technologies like generative artificial intelligence and smart glasses, and how to assess AT needs in employment settings.
