This course is designed to introduce school-based related services professionals to the foundational concepts and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) within educational settings. Participants will explore what AI is and how it is currently being utilized to support service delivery, efficiency, and outcomes for students receiving related services. The session will emphasize responsible and ethical AI use, including a review of the Bucks IU AI policy, confidentiality considerations, and essential principles of AI literacy and safety. Participants will develop an understanding of how to use AI tools effectively while maintaining compliance with educational and professional standards. Through guided instruction and hands-on exploration, attendees will learn the basics of interacting with AI systems, including how to construct effective prompts and leverage AI for improving workflow efficiency. The course will highlight practical applications of AI specific to related services, such as generating therapy materials, supporting documentation, and enhancing collaboration. Participants will actively engage with AI tools to explore their functionality and create original materials relevant to their professional roles. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify best practices and benefits of AI use and apply learned strategies to develop resources that support student participation and therapeutic outcomes in school-based settings. |
