This course provides state vocational rehabilitation (VR) counselors with a practical, policy-aligned framework for understanding and supporting adjustment to vision loss in blind and low vision clients. Participants will examine adjustment as an individualized, functional process that directly influences engagement in VR services, informed choice, and progress toward employment outcomes. The course translates psychosocial adjustment concepts into day-to-day VR interactions, service planning, and coordination decisions, with attention to ethical boundaries, role clarity, and documentation requirements. Emphasis is placed on recognizing how VR practices, service sequencing, and counselor-client interactions can either support or hinder healthy adjustment and vocational readiness. |
