Practitioners serving individuals who are blind or visually impaired must ensure that they are equipped with the appropriate attitude, motivation, and skill set to provide effective training strategies that address the unique needs of individuals from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Participants in this session will review adaptive eating skills and tools for people with visual impairments. Providers will apply skills leaned to support our Veteran population. Participants will learn skills for adaptive eating, adaptive pouring, adaptive cutting, handling containers/packets, and identifying meal items. |
