Description of CE Program/Activity
The Assistive Technology Team at USDB will demo various technology used for Orientation and Mobility purposes. We will also have Dr. Nana Phangia and Rachel Olsen present on O&M for students with MD. O&M for students who have multiple impairments can be challenging, but flexibility and creativity can guide O&M practitioners in designing highly effective and engaging programming for this population of students. Strategies in how to work with students who have multiple impairments and how to increase their participation and engagement in O&M lessons will be shared with presentation attendees. Videos and pictures of O&M strategies in action will also be shared. Presentation attendees are encouraged to share their experiences with providing O&M services to students with multiple impairments, ask questions, and brainstorm ideas.
