Participants will be able to describe the range of programs offered by Leader Dog, including Orientation & Mobility training, Guide Dog programs, and Teen programs, and explain how each supports the development of safe, independent travel skills.2. Participants will be able to compare and contrast long cane travel and guide dog travel, including benefits, limitations, handler responsibilities, and environmental factors that impact the choice of mobility tool.3. Participants will be able to identify prerequisite Orientation & Mobility (O&M) competencies required for guide dog readiness and evaluate how a travelers goals, preferences, lifestyle, and navigation style inform recommendations for long cane travel, guide dog travel, or a blended approach. |
