MCB Get Onboard: New Employee OrientationOverview:This orientation introduces new MCB employees to the mission, structure, and services of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB). Participants will gain a clear understanding of how their roles contribute to supporting individuals who are blind or have low vision through MCB s programs and collaborative work within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS).Learning Objectives:By the end of this orientation, participants will be able to:-Understand MCB s vision, mission, values, goals, and objectives that guide services for consumers.-Describe how MCB operates within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) to serve individuals who are blind or have low vision.-Identify who MCB consumers are and how services are delivered across the agency.-Review MCB s internal systems such as communication, fiscal, legal, and travel policies to ensure effective consumer support.-Compare the range of MCB programs, including Elder Services, Internship/Employment, Deaf-Blind, Children s Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Rehabilitation, Adaptive Technology, Orientation & Mobility, and Central Registration.-Analyze case management techniques through real-world consumer scenarios.-Evaluate available resources and strategies to provide ADA compliance and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in service delivery. |
