Session 6 of this series will focus on phonics and pre-phonologic spelling instruction. We will discuss strategies for including spelling in every lesson, because science has shown it is a powerful driver of reading and writing skills. Using case data, we will closely examine the skills of one student with CLN who demonstrates early literacy strengths. We will then discuss how instruction of phonics and spelling can be layered and integrated throughout daily instruction. Participants will discover how spelling instruction drives both reading and writing growth. |
