In session 3, we will wrap up our discussion of phonics assessment for students with CLN, while expanding our discussion to include the spelling assessment for pre-phonologic spellers. Students early spelling attempts are often overlooked as meaningful data or missing from our evaluation due to a lack of assessment tools. It is well documented that spelling builds reading and language skills for students with CLN. We will show assessment tools and ways to interpret the data for these two areas. Participants will gain strategies to capture hidden strengths through early spelling attempts. |
