Description of CE Program/Activity
Students with Complex Learning Needs (CLN), including those with cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and severe speech and physical impairments, need access to the highest quality literacy instruction to achieve optimal outcomes. The series will kick off with an overview of the Science of Reading, Writing, and Instruction and discuss how science informs practice for students with Complex Learning Needs (CLN). The Simple View of Reading and the Not-So-Simple View of Writing will be discussed in relation to classroom curriculum practices. Educators will see how these foundational frameworks can transform literacy outcomes for students with CLN.
