Behavior: A Different PerspectiveDuring this training, we will explore ways to foster safety, success, independence, and connectedness by using proactive and responsive strategies. We will address how meeting these needs can impact behavior and lay the foundation for all development and learning. TSBVI s Guidance for Planning Behavior Intervention will provide the framework for this training. These strategies are not limited to those with the most complex needs. They are appropriate for students at all stages of development and with various communicative skills. This session places strong emphasis on the relational dynamics between communicative partners (students and educators).Participants will:Learn and understand how sensory differences affect social-emotional developmentLearn and understand how both development and experience influence human behaviorEngage in activities that will introduce proactive and positive strategies designed to reduce distress |
