Description of CE Program/Activity
Join Rachel Ramos and Roger Steinberg as they present what s new with HumanWare s low vision and blindness products. You ll learn about the Prodigi for Windows software, hand-held and desktop magnifiers, and an all-in-one PC equipped with a magnification suite. As HumanWare never stops innovating when it comes to braille, they will share the new features and updates recently introduced to the BrailleNote/Brailliant display line, and the Monarch multi-line braille display. HumanWare has a stand-alone GPS device with traffic light detection, and the VictorReader stream which is a well-known media player/book reader. They will also discuss training components when working with children and adults. Bring your questions, as this promises to be a packed info session. Objectives: Participants will learn about 3 low vision solutions and how to keep software updated. Participants will learn at least two ways to update a braille display to the latest firmware. Participants will learn about two portable solutions, (one being a stand-alone GPS, and the other being a stand-alone media player/book reader). Participants will learn about methodologies and training components when working with children and adults on HumanWare devices.
