The purpose of this training is to provide a hands-on training on the delivery of services to Veterans admitted to the Blind Rehabilitation Center as a practical application for training. Participants will learn the Envision Smart Glasses device features and functions through hands-on training and the device will be available for participants physically present at the BRC to have hands-on engagement if interested. Envision Smart glasses are another head-mounted device capable of receiving voice commands, OCR, calling, identification features, and has the ability to connect to WIFI. This hands on training will focus on the use and assessment of the device for functional application with Veterans with a visual impairment. This hands on training will allow us to compare this device to other headmounted devices that perform similar tasks.Participants will be educated on what Envision Smart glasses are, and what they are capable of. Participants will receive training on voice commands, OCR, calling, identification features, and the basics on operating and maintaining the device.Participants will also be educated on how the Envision Smart Glasses compare to other head-mounted alternatives.This presentation will provide an overview and comprehensive snapshot training on the use of The Envision Smart Glasses, indicate how to carry out an assessment and understanding of the program on a 1:1 basis once a Veteran is admitted to the West Palm Beach Blind Rehab Center for training. |
