Description of CE Program/Activity
Participants will learn best practices for working with Multilingual Students (English Leaners) who are blind or have low vision. They will walk away with practical knowledge that they can use specifically around braille instruction.Objectives:1. By the end of the session participants will be able to list at least one evidence-based strategy to use with multilingual B/LV students.2. By the end of the session participants will know how to introduce braille to students that a) had no literacy in their home language, b) had braille instruction in their home language and c) are younger and emerging in literacy.3. By the end of the session participants will be able to cite specific federal guidance on multilingual students with IEP's.4. By the end of the session participants will know where to go to find more resources and information on this population.
