Description of CE Program/Activity
The CPR and AED training course is designed specifically for Lay Rescuers (Non-Healthcare Workers) and is an excellent choice for CPR and defibrillator training in the workplace settings. This extremely flexible program will help prepare individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and choking incidents. It conforms to the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC, and the 2020 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid. This in-person course is MA State 911 Approved.In this course you will: Recognize and Respond to Cardiac Emergencies. Practice proper chest compressions and rescue breaths Understand the function and importance of an AED in cardiac arrest situations. Apply techniques that conform to the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. Understand when and how to perform abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver) or back blows and chest thrusts. Comply with MA State 911 Approved training requirements for lay rescuers.
