Practitioners serving individuals who are blind or visually impaired must ensure that they are equipped with the appropriate attitude, motivation, and skill set to provide effective training strategies that address the unique needs of individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. With the increase of our society becoming more dependent on technology to meet several of their activities of daily living, our instructors here at the Blind Rehabilitation Center have been at the forefront of accommodating the technology needs of the Veterans we serve with blindness/visual impairments. With this in mind, it has become necessary to be well informed of online security issues and how to address them. Participants will learn about current security threats, their impact and how we can best empower our Veterans to handle them. |
