Our theme for the conference is EmPOWERment through connection, inclusion and education.The word EmPOWERment is purposely semi-capitalised and italicised to emphasise the word power which in this case refers to everyone attending the conference who will have the power to make positive change. Our theme is assembled starting with the ultimate goal which is to empower, this being our students, parents, educators and other members of the SPEVI community and this is achieved through connection where the community gathers in person or online to exchange ideas, network and learn together, inclusion which is a positive for everyone and education which is what SPEVI aspires to, education for all with vision impairment and additional disabilities. This will all be expanded upon through the various activities we plan to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Braille and the 70th year of SPEVI's first iteration. |
