Description of CE Program/Activity
 Vision and O&M Collaboration Builds FoundationOrientation and mobility involve critical skills for people with visual impairments and is the keyto driving motivation, creating independence, and building confidence. This workshop aims toprovide rigorous content on how vision and orientation and mobility services are used toscaffold instruction to people with visual impairments to travel independently. In thisworkshop, the learner will learn basic knowledge in orientation and mobility to make goalsand decisions for students who are visually impaired to be independent while traveling.Empowering Individuals with Diverse Travel Needs: Realistic case studies relatingto physical or cognitive challenges, team collaboration and psychosocial barriersThe presentation explores real-world examples of individuals with diverse needs in O&Mtraining. Using case studies, we will examine successful strategies for three distinctpopulations: students with multiple disabilities, students who require a more collaborativeteam approach, and adults with motivational barriers. Each specialist will share actionableinsights for empowering individuals and engage audience members for additional solutions.Filling Up Your Transportation Toolbox: Implications for South CarolinaHigh school students and recent graduates who are blind or have low vision need a broadunderstanding of the options they may use for transportation. Come learn how weimplemented the Finding Wheels curriculum and what youth reported they learned. We willdivide into small groups, complete some of their favorite activities, and use apps that mayassist with day-to-day activities!
