Description of CE Program/Activity
 Morning SessionFocusThe presenters will break down the changes in the Criteria in Visual Impairments included in the latest revision of the Standards of Evaluation and Eligibility Determination (SEED) document. The presentation will include clarifying language on each section of the eligibility criteria. Additionally, the use of guiding questions will be discussed to assist teams in determining when a Functional Vision, Learning Media, Expanded Core Curriculum Assessment is appropriate.Objectives:After completing this training, attendees will be able to Participants will gain an understanding to the changes in the criteria for qualifying students with a visual impairment Participants will learn to use guiding questions to assist teams in determining when a FVLMAECC is appropriate. Afternoon SessionFocus This session will explore how the Functional Vision, Learning Media, and Expanded Core Curriculum Assessment form fully supports the changes in the eligibility criteria for Visual Impairment. Information regarding determining appropriate media will be provided including electronic text. Additionally, guiding questions to complete the Expanded Core Curriculum section of the assessment will be discussed. Objectives:Participants will: Understand the connection between the eligibility criteria for visual impairments and the assessment form. Learn to use guiding questions to assist with the assessment of all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum.
