Introduction:The purpose of this presentation is to provide hands on experience with GPS stand-alone devices that are accessible for the visually impaired. The Stellar Trek will be demonstrated as well as participants will be provided the opportunity to use the device with its various functions in the community. Teaching and training strategies will be discussed, as well as the use of this device with its built-in speech output with various maps for the US and territories in conjunction with tactual button configuration. As this presentation will take place both in and outdoors environments, participants are asked to dress accordingly and to bring water. |
