Description of CE Program/Activity
Building upon the foundational knowledge acquired in Course 1, the second course of our trilogy will equip participants to delve deeper into the multi-dimensional complexities of Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI). Enroll in this course to gain access to critical information about CVI based on relevant research which guides educators to use a structured framework to gather data. Participants will learn to utilize the CVI Companion Guide to better understand CVI and its behavioral implications. Special thanks to the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired for their partnership with developing this course. Objectives:Identify 4 core beliefs about the assessment process as it relates to assessing children with CVI. Describe how the CVI Companion Guide fits within the overall assessment process. Illustrate how information gathered using the CVI Profile Form describes the impact of CVI for a child s visual functioning and overall development. Distinguish how information gathered using the CVI Profile Form applies to both the Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments.
