This event offers evidence-based practices, strategies, and resources for engaging students with complex communication needs through AAC systems. Our theme, "Elevating Voices: Empowerment Through AAC," explores innovative solutions and perspectives, empowering students and amplifying their voices. National and local presenters will discuss person-centered practices, empowering communication partners, and practical AAC implementation strategies.OBJECTIVES: Identify two effective strategies for communication with AAC users. List two methods to support emergent AAC users in fostering communication skills. Describe the benefits of AAC users taking an active role in educating their communities about AAC, disability, and inclusion. |
