Description of CE Program/Activity
 Braille Institute Art Instructors discuss techniques and adaptations for teaching students who have low vision or are blind.Learning objectives:- Understand why art making is important and useful for blind and visually impaired students. - Identify what transferable skills are stimulated and honed by ways of creative thinking and problem-solving skills are used in the art making process. - Identify socio-emotional benefits that result from an arts experience. - Understand multiple physical and cognitive skills that art making develops. - Develop a familiarity with basic arts materials and how to use and apply them to two different project/assignment ideas. Recognize ways to adapt workspaces and use adaptive devices during artmaking. - Distinguish the vocabulary and tone of discussion that will facilitate confidence-building in students. - Identify materials that are pleasurable and useful for students to work with, and articulate instructions and/or comments effectively.
