Description of CE Program/Activity
Welcome to HKNC s Staff Learning Hub, your gateway to a world of learning and empowerment. This has been developed to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting the success of DeafBlind individuals in achieving their aspirations. Here at HKNC, we recognize that every member of our staff brings unique strengths and experiences to their role, but no one arrives with ALL the tools needed to address the diverse goals, needs and preferences of the DeafBlind participants we serve. We embrace the philosophy of "learning on the job and learning from one another an approach that bridges the gap between theory and practice. What sets HKNC apart is our exceptional array of talent, expertise, and experience, all united within our agency. From our seasoned audiologist and low vision specialist with over two decades of working with DeafBlind individuals, to our dedicated DeafBlind staff from various backgrounds, as well as our Vocational, Technology and Communication Specialists, and more, we are a rich pool of knowledge. And let's not forget that we learn from the individuals we serve every day. Our strength lies in collaboration; a simple phone call connects us to a wealth of wisdom. The mission of our Learning Hub is to gather and present this wealth of expertise in a way that's easily accessible and applicable. Within these virtual walls, you'll find courses covering a diverse range of content. But it doesn't stop there. We encourage you to dive deeper. Engage with selected staff and students, explore their insights, and reflect on how this knowledge resonates with your role. These mentored experiences and reflections will truly enrich your learning journey. This is your personal portal, a repository of resources tailored specifically to you and your role. A space where knowledge transforms into action. As you collect insights, strategies, and tools, remember that you're contributing to a legacy of empowerment and positive change for DeafBlind individuals.
