These two 3-hour presentations will be focusing on increasing teaching strategies for braille instruction. VRTs will increase their confidence and skills in introducing the adult learner to braille. Learning tools will be shared with participants. Attendees will be able to share how they were able to implement strategies between sessions. The presenter, Daniel Norris, is a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and DeafBlind Consultant. Dan is the Program Coordinator for the Vision Rehabilitation Therapy program at UMass Boston and the chair of AER s Division 11 (Vision Rehabilitation Therapy). Dan works for the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired as Supervisor of Adult Services. |
