Description of CE Program/Activity
Session Description: The CVI Range has been our go-to tool to assess Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) since 2008 but in the last five years many new assessment tools have been introduced that can be used instead of the Range if you are not comfortable scoring it, or as supplements to the Range. Tools like the Dutton Inventories and the Perkins CVI Protocol add a lot to our assessments of students who are demonstrating academic skills and using their vision, but we ll be looking at some tools that can help tease out the impact of CVI for students who are less responsive and younger developmentally.Session Outcomes:1.Participants will learn how to access and use the Steendam Response Record and the SeeSaw assessment tool for children with CVI.2.Participants will become familiar with the Visual Assessment Scale and its levels and characteristics of CVI.3.Participants will discuss ways to use new tools with the CVI Range.
