Description of CE Program/Activity
Join us as we learn about nationwide disasters affecting each area of the United States. We will sort through disasters ranging from hurricanes and tornados to earthquakes and fires and active shooter situations. You will learn how to prepare for disasters, to survive and thrive through them regardless of where you live. We will learn about the differences between an emergency and a disaster with a focus on preparation related to sheltering in place vs evacuation. Specific strategies relevant to the DeafBlind community will be discussed along with identifying a support team in your community. We hope you will utilize what you have learned so that your lives may return to normal as soon as possible in the aftermath of a disaster. The overview will be presented by Eleanor Coley-Brody and David Volper. ASL interpreting and captions will be available on Zoom.
