Introduction:The purpose of this presentation is to provide hands on experience with GPS apps that are accessible for the visually impaired. The Blindsquare app will be demonstrated as well as to provide the opportunity to use the app with its various functions in the community. Teaching and training strategies will be discussed, as well as the use of this app with various Map programs such as Apple and Google maps in conjunction with accessible software that is built into an iPhone such as Voice Over. As this presentation will take place both in and outdoors environments, participants are asked to dress accordingly and to bring water. |
