Summary: In Colorado, over 500,000 individuals have sustained a brain injury and are now living with alifelong disability. Brain injury can cause a wide range of functional changes affecting thinking, language,learning, emotions, behavior, and/or sensation. Providing accommodations and learning strategies tohelp support these survivors is what we will be working towards in this training.Learning Objectives:1)Provide a brief overview of what a brain injury is2)Identify specific populations that have higher prevalence of brain injury3)Explore accommodations/strategies that professionals can utilize when working with survivors4)Learn about services at the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado and when a referral should be made |
