Please join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee on Wednesday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. as we present Language Matters: Inclusivity for Trans Individuals for Pride Month. Presenter - James Shultis - Pronouns: he/him and they/them James is a dynamic educator providing support to individuals, schools, organizations, businesses, and more. Since 2003, James has been teaching about LGBTQIA+ issues, working with homeless shelters and clinics, K-12 schools, and college classrooms. Since 2016, James has trained more than 5,000 individuals throughout the northeast (primarily in MA, NY, NJ, & VT). This session equips you with better ways to support trans, gender nonconforming, and non-binary individuals in our community. By exploring a variety of resources as well as tried and true best practices, you ll be able to update your toolbox with some common language/ terms, some advocacy items, and a refreshed perspective on the experiences of trans people to serve consumers.
