Introduction:This training will provide an overview of VBA, VHA, and NCA benefits to participants. This training will focus on overall VA benefits tailored to those available to low vision and legally blind Veterans. The participants will gain knowledge on what benefits are available to Veterans, how to apply for these benefits, and/or who to refer to. The knowledge learned will help participants screen Veterans for potential services and/or benefits, as well as participants being able to provide this information to Veterans without having to refer elsewhere. Goals:1.Participants will understand how to locate and view priority groups and service connection (SC) ratings in CPRS.2.Participants will understand the difference between the VHA, VBA, and NCA for benefits purposes.3.Participants will understand common benefits available for low vision and/or visually impaired Veterans.4.Participants will understand qualifications for Aid and Attendance benefits5.Participants will understand the referral process for VBA benefits6.Participants will understand basic transportation options through VHA7.Participants will understand the HISA grant and referral process |
