This session will focus on topics related to deaf/hard of hearing. We will begin with a presentation by Amy McQuillan on students that are considered to be Deaf Plus, students diagnosed a deaf/hard of hearing with additional disabilities. This presentation will focus on the additional supports and related services these students may need to be successful. The next part will be an overview of the updated Communication Plan. Presenters will review the updated plan, required implementation dates, outline changes made, and an overview of primary communication mode chart. The last piece will be led by Michelle Andros, Vice-President of Professional Outreach and Courses for Success for Kids with Hearing Loss. Michelle will walk participants through their website so that participants may located pertinent resources and links that can be used in the field. |
